Amir founded IraQueer, the first LGBT network in Iraq and Kurdistan; it is a platform for information and support for the community in Iraq and the Kurdistan region. They seek to better inform the LGBT community and the greater population about sexuality and health and offer support to people in an area, traditionally very hostile towards the LGBT community. Amir dedicated 1,000 hours to help set it up with the help of two others who put in 500 hours in total. 250 people on the ground have received counselling and they impact people through their social media and website (roughly 3,000 people)
