"Un Mundo Sin Mordaza" exists to promote:
A world in which everyone, without distinction of any kind, can exercise unrestricted freedom of opinion and expression, as defined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 13 of the American Convention on Human Rights, as a fundamental human right without which all other democratic rights are meaningless.
It was born as a global movement that defends freedom of speech. The iniciative arose as a result of the persecution of the Venezuelan media but extends to the defence of freedom of expression in any country in which this is threatened.
Its activities include:
Flagging and denouncing any attempt to silence expressions of protest or dissent or to prevent the free exchange of ideas. Creating, developing and producing publications and actions directed at eliminating obstacles placed to oppose its exercise.
