Joe Franses is Vice-President, Sustainability at Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP), the world’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottler.

 

CCEP manufactures and distributes an extensive range of non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages, serving a consumer population of over 300 million across Western Europe, including Great Britain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Iceland.

 

Joe oversees CCEP’s sustainability strategy focusing on sustainable packaging, energy and climate and water stewardship. Joe is responsible for stakeholder engagement, sustainability reporting and communications, including external engagement with NGOs, policymakers, customers and suppliers.

 

Joe is an experienced sustainability professional with over 18 years of experience in managing corporate responsibility and sustainability issues. He is a passionate advocate for sustainable business, providing vision and leadership to drive change on global sustainability issues.

 

Joe has worked within the Coca-Cola System in both Great Britain and Europe since 2005. Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Joe spent three years with Cable & Wireless, overseeing corporate responsibility, sustainability reporting and disclosure as well as community and NGO partnerships.

 

Joe began his career working in the charitable sector and spent four years working in public affairs and communications consultancy, focused on supporting businesses to develop and communicate their corporate responsibility strategies and community partnerships.

 

Joe holds an undergraduate degree in Social Policy & Politics from the University of Manchester and a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge.
