At the 2011 Summit, One Young World co-founder David Jones revealed that One Young World would create a fund and other initiatives to support social businesses.
One Young World is pleased to announce that the One Young World Social Business Accelerator is now ready to receive applications from those seeking investments/loans and/or grants as well as from those who wish to tap into the wide range of skills, knowledge and experience of the One Young World Ambassador network.
Applications for funding fall into two categories: Accelerator investments/loans and grants.
1. Accelerator investments/loans range from £2,000 to £20,000 (pounds sterling), and can be in the form of loans, equity, or a hybrid. The application for investments and loans can be found here.
2. Grants range from £500 to £2,000. They are offered with no financial return expected to help early stage businesses or small projects to help further their goals and have a positive social impact. The application form for grants can be found here.
Join the Accelerator Army
One Young World Social Business Accelerator is also looking for Ambassadors and others who are willing to donate time and skills to help with its internal systems, research and analysis, as well as offering support to businesses backed by the Accelerator.
In particular, help is needed with processing applications and performing due diligence tasks on potential investment and grant recipients.
If you have the relevant skills and would be willing to donate time to help with the operational side of the Accelerator then we would be delighted to hear from you. You could join a team of amazing Ambassadors already working on this side of the Accelerator and help scale the incredible work that is already being created by social entrepreneurs round the world.
