About Solve

Solve is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a mission to solve world challenges. Solve is a marketplace for social impact innovation. Through open innovation Challenges, Solve finds incredible tech-based social entrepreneurs all around the world. Solve then brings together MIT’s innovation ecosystem and a community of Members to fund and support these entrepreneurs to help them drive lasting, transformational impact. 

As well as applying to Solve's Global Challenges (listed below), applicants can also enrol in Solve's free 5-week course on social enterprise business and impact planning to help support their application.

 

The Challenges

 

TPrize Challenge powered by MIT Solve

Tecnológico de Monterrey and Universidad de los Andes have launched the TPrize Challenge, which seeks to find and support tech-based solutions to close the skills gap and promote lifelong learning opportunities across Latin America and the Caribbean. Up to US$100,000 in prize funding is available. Tecnológico de Monterrey will also provide selected winners with follow-on support, which could include mentorship, incubation and acceleration, IP registration, capacity building, and connecting with experts.

Digital Workforce Challenge powered by MIT Solve

ServiceNow believes that technology should be in the service of people. The Digital Workforce Challenge is seeking tech-based solutions that prepare us for a digital workforce. A minimum of US$100,000 in prize funding, provided by ServiceNow, is available for the winner of the Challenge. ServiceNow will also provide the winner with skills-based mentorship and media opportunities. Stay tuned for more information about this Challenge in early January.

Global Maker Challenge powered by MIT Solve

The Global Maker Challenge, launched by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Initiative for Global Prosperity, is open for solutions. This year's themes: Sustainable and Healthy Food for All, Innovation for Inclusive Trade, Innovation for Peace and Justice, and Climate Change. Award winners will be awarded with prizes of up to US$1,000,000,

InfraChallenge powered by MIT Solve

The Global Infrastructure Hub, an initiative of the G20, launched the InfraChallenge, the first international competition designed to disrupt the infrastructure industry through digital innovations. Winner(s) will receive a total AU$50,000 funding package to implement their digital solution, mentorship, and ongoing support from GI Hub and its partners.
