Kofi Annan Dialogues: LIVE, an unprecedented series of online discussions, is launching on 15 May 2013. The series will connect Nobel Laureate and former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan with some of the world's most dynamic young people.
Using Google Hangout, these intimate dialogues will give young people the opportunity to learn from Kofi Annan’s unique experience of life led at the forefront of global leadership.
Mr. Annan has been a long time supporter of One Young World and was a Counsellor at the inaugural Summit in 2010 and in 2012 in Pittsburgh
One Young World is working in partnership with the Kofi Annan Foundation, the International Telecommunication Union and BYND to bring this project to fruition and One Young World Ambassadors have been taking part in an extensive pilot series since February. The pilots shaped the format of the dialogues as well as helping to gauge youth opinion on the most pressing issues for the series to address.
The series will be broadcast live to a global audience and Mr. Annan will welcome questions from viewers via social media. The first episode on 15 May will focus on Young People and Leadership. The Kofi Annan Foundation hopes that these conversations will highlight the current commitments of young people, encourage further public engagement and prompt other high profile leaders to take heed of young voices. The young participants will be drawn from a range of backgrounds and will include One Young World Ambassadors.

The series will be delivered via a bespoke website that will serve as the main point for participants to engage with Mr. Annan during each live episode, as well as acting as a hub for on-going conversations the series aims to spark. Online polling will also be conducted parallel to the series to capture the concerns, aspirations and priorities of young people.
It is anticipated that a special edition of the Kofi Annan Dialogues: LIVE will take place at the One Young World Summit 2013 in Johannesburg in October.
The Kofi Annan Dialogues: LIVE website will be live shortly, providing full details of how to use your social profile to log into the discussions, follow the dialogues and participate in the online poll.
