I am passionate aboutI am a firm believer in the power of young people to create and inspire
change, specially now.
Colombia is facing a once in a lifetime opportunity to change its future and
to grow through a scenario where the war is finally out of the way. We face
enormous challenges, but I truly believe in the power of our generation. The
strength we have in showing the world, ourselves and the older generations,
that there has been enough hate and revenge. It is time for us to spread
tolerance, respect and impulse reconciliation initiatives so peace can sink
ActionsI have been part of the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace in 2014.
This is the office behind the peace agreement signed with the Farc.
Here, my work has allowed me to create positive changes in my country. As a
part of the Transitional Justice Team, I have been able to be a part of the
process of the early acts of accountability of the Farc, in Bojaya, La
Chinita and Diputados del Valle. In each of these moments, the Farc have
recognized that their actions caused an amount of pain that was unnecessary
and shown their willingness to repare the victims in these territories.
I am currently beginning this process with the indigenous community Awa,
because of the two masacres that occurred in 2009.
The Final Agreement, includes these accountability acts as early
demonstrations of how things are changing and how each action of the
implementation of the agreements must contribute to create a new road of
reconciliation in the different regions of Colombia.
