I am passionate about

For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about human and victim rights. I spent about a year in Jordan, working with Syrian refugees in and out of the camps, as well as spending a month deployed down to St. Croix last October after the hurricanes devastated Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. I struggled with the concept of privilege for a long time and realized that instead of feeling shame that I come from a country and area of privilege, I wanted to use that privilege to help those who are in need. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live a safe and healthy life and if I can make a difference in one person's life then I count that as a success.

Actions

While I have been involved in a number of volunteer and humanitarian projects before joining Experian, I have been lucky enough to continue that work during my tenure with Experian. I was involved with the Social Responsibility Committee as soon as I joined the company - working at soup kitchens, volunteering with local non-profits, and helping raise money for a variety of fundraisers. Last October, 2017, I was asked to deploy as a Disaster Responder with the Red Cross down to St. Croix and I was fortunate that Experian afforded me the opportunity to deploy for 3 weeks and supported me during my time down there. While I was down in St. Croix, I was the Reunification Lead and worked tirelessly to help reunite families that may have been displaced during the chaos of the hurricanes. I also helped distribute food, medication, and other aid to families in need.
