I am passionate about

I am also an experienced campaigner and commentator on social and political issues and have been awarded for my voluntary work with issue-based campaigns, charities and political parties in the UK. In recognition of my voluntary endeavours, I am a Fellow of the RSA, recognised as a UK Young Leader by the US Embassy in London and is an Advisory Mentor to The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme. I was cited as one of the top 15 campaigners working towards gender equality worldwide in 2016 by the Huffington Post. I was the UK Delegate Speaker on Human Rights at the One Young World Summit 2013 in Johannesburg. I used the platform to speak about my volunteer work as the Campaign Manager for the Red Light Campaign, a campaign supporting survivors of slavery and working to raise awareness about the pervasiveness of slavery in the modern world. Modern slavery is a prevalent issue in global supply chains and a key consideration for ethical investment decisions.

Actions

I am a public policy and communications specialist with a background in social impact. I am currently working in the Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet Office Business Partnerships Team. I was recognised as an 'Emerging Leader in the Public Sector' by the Apolitical Foundation in 2019. Part of my role in the UK Government involves working on the Inclusive Economy Partnership, a Government initiative that engages with business to help them play a positive and purposeful role in society, by creating a systemic change in our economy. Through my work on the Inclusive Economy Partnership, I have developed a robust knowledge of global social, environmental and economic trends, and the ability to develop the strategic business case for organisational change. By understanding of the ways in which business can catalyse wider system-level change, I have the critical skills and confidence to engage with businesses on how to embed sustainability into their business models at an organisational level to achieve practical outcomes. Prior to joining the Cabinet Office, I worked at Weber Shandwick, a global communications consultancy, and as a freelance consultant. Many of the high-profile projects I have worked on involve engaging stakeholders and building relationships with a range of internal and external partners including governments, FTSE 100 companies and NGOs. I have international experience working in London, Geneva and Johannesburg. I specialised in social impact clients including the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), UNICEF, DFID and Save the Children so I have a professional understanding of working on behalf of the charitable and international development sector, as well as in a voluntary capacity.
