I am passionate about
I am very passionate about my Gaelic Footbal I have many passions in my life, each one underpinned by the values instilled in me by being an active member of the GAA community. I love to participate in team games and in particular Gaelic Football. This has taught me to respect and appreciate the strengths and weaknesses in individuals. By recognising the strengths and weaknesses of others I have developed a passion to assist others in recognising and realising their true potential on and off the playing field. As an employee of the Gaelic Players Association my passion is nurtured in this field. Health Promotion in both physical and mental well being is paramount to a fulfilled life and so my reasons for completing a BSc degree in Health Promotion. Working with the GPA has given the opportunity to put many aspects of my degree into practice such as working along side organisations such as Pieta House and SOAR.
Realising the prevelance of mental health issues in our young people, I treat my leadership role within my community with utmost respect. Being a leader within a community no matter what size carries with it a lot of responsibility as you are a role model for many others. Being captain of my club's Senior Gaelic Football Team I have embraced this responsibility with passion. My responsibilities lie both on and off the field with my own team members where I provide not only leadership but also a means for communication, opinion and friendship. I also strive to be a role model for younger members of our community by helping out with different workshops along with many fund raising events for multiple organisations.
