I am passionate about

Actions

I am devoted to changing the way Science is taught in Spain and I am effecting this change through my own social project, Escuelab. Since we created it in 2013, our projects have reached over 1,700 direct and more than 16,500 indirect beneficiaries. Our focus is to address the lack of opportunities for Spanish children from underprivileged backgrounds to receive a quality, experiential scientific education, together with the increasing disconnection between researchers and society in Spain, which results in a worrisome decrease in scientific vocations. To tackle this issue, we have already designed and tested educational materials to implement in workshops at schools for students aged 5-15. These materials are endorsed by researchers and educational experts and are already being used in the classroom. We have also organized a summer day camp that has served as successful pilot for the new activities we will launch in the summer of 2016.
