Delegate Speakers for One Young World 2016 in Ottawa

Delegate Speakers play a significant role in the Summit. Unlike traditional conferences, One Young World provides a platform for young leaders to speak alongside Presidents, Nobel Prize Winners, Global business leaders and other inspiring global leaders. Delegate Speakers are a truly international cohort, sharing their impactful work, personal experiences, views and opinions with around 1,300 Summit attendees and the watching world.

Ambassadors represent OYW at the Social Business Youth Summit

OYW is a Community Partner of Social Business Youth Summit, a global, youth forum organised by Shazeeb M Khairul Islam and Khalid Hossain. Ambassadors from Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and Bangladesh attended the event and participated in a meet-up and an exclusive dinner with Professor Yunus.

Lead2030 sources 2,000+ SDG solutions from 110+ countries

Since launching at the One Young World Summit 2018, Lead2030 has sourced more than 2,500 soultions for the Sustainable Development Goals in over 110 countries. ​
161 solutions have now been selected to advance to the second round of assessment.

10 solutions will ultimately be selected to receive a transformative package of support from Lead2030 Challenge Partners including £50,000 and access to expert mentors.

OYW Ambassador Hussain Manawer Becomes Kings College London’s Youngest Honorary Fellow

Poet Hussain Manawer (27) received an honorary fellowship from the prestigious King’s College London this past July. Presented by President & Principal Professor Edward Byrne AC, held at the Barbican Centre Hussain joined the faculty of social science and public policy students as he accepted the highly distinguished award.

Ambassador Hussain Manawer supports London Mayor Sadiq Khan in Lahore

Yesterday (6 December), London based poet Hussain Manawer, took his message of leadership, resilience and perseverance in reaching your full potential to the Alahmra Arts Center in Lahore, Pakistan, as part of the London Mayor’s official visit to the country. Lending his support to Sadiq Khan, Manawer performed his original poem ‘I Am Pakistan’ to a hundred-strong crowd, made up of the country’s brightest future leaders.

Meet the Ambassdor fighting the stigma surrounding mental health

Our Ambassador of the week is Alicia Raimundo, a Canadian native who advocates for mental health awareness. After almost losing her own life to suicide and attending 14 funerals as a result of suicide, Alicia knew she wanted to ignite change pertaining to mental illness. Suicide takes more lives annually than acts of violence and has risen 60% in the past 45 years.
