OYW supports UK’s Youth G20 and G7 Delegations in designing policy proposals

From a large pool of talented applicants, the Future Leaders Network have selected 6 delegates to represent the UK at the G7 and G20 Youth Summits, in France and Japan respectively. These young leaders include two One Young World Ambassadors, James da Costa and Abdulkadir Elmi - James will act as Head Delegate leading the UK’s Y20 representation. James is the co-founder of the Mandala Group, which specialises in building accessible mobile applications in disconnected areas of India and Kenya.

Meet the 2018 OFID Scholars

The OPEC Fund for International Development OFID has sponsored 165 delegates to attend One Young World Summits since 2011 and will be bringing 20 outstanding young leaders to The Hague next month.

The 20 OFID scholars have been chosen for the impact they have demonstrated through projects that meet basic needs - such as food, energy, clean water and sanitation, healthcare and education. There work has been recognised as inspiring hope for the future by encouraging communities to be self-reliant.

 

OYW features on BUILD Series in NYC - hear from ELLE’s former EIC, an impact-focused celebrity stylist & 4 young entrepreneurs

It has hosted Hollywood stars including Christian Bale, Lena Dunham and Spike Lee, and next week the globally-renown BUILD live interview series is to turn its attention to One Young World.

BUILD, which has an international audience of millions, focused on One Young World in two shows which highlighted its work with young leaders in the fields of social entrepreneurship, fair trade, LGBT rights and women’s empowerment.
