Aktion Gratishilfe

,

Daniel Nüesch helped to start Aktion Gratishilfe (Operation Help-for-Free). The project aims to provide free assistance wherever possible in communities, be it cutting grass or buying groceries. The organisation is managed from a central administration office which receives requests and delegates them to the most appropriate people. Volunteers register online and list their skills - the project was inundated with offers of help from all sorts of people: from professional craftsmen to friendly neighbours. Such was its initial success in the city of Chur, it is now being rolled out nationally.

Aktion Gratishilfe's assistance is provided with three conditions: it is free; it is unconditional (no strings attached) and it is provided in the most simple way possible. The idea is that individuals become more aware of the needs of others and communities are strengthened through the charitable actions.
