Jukti

,

'Jukti (যুক্তি)' in Bengali stands for LOGIC. The reason for setting up Jukti is to give something back to the country. We would like to stand beside our people in our own way. It is also part of the word 'projukti', which means technology.

Jukti is a telemedicine initiative, which is still in its infant stage. The goal of Jukti is to make health care more accessible to everyone, particularly people living in the remote areas where access to high quality medicine is limited.

The first initiative is a pilot project which comprises 3 villages. In this project mobile technology and a store and forward approach will be used to provide medical services and records of patients to doctors residing in Dhaka. This record will also help doctors to use as reference.

Expansion plans involve Phases B & C which means setting up check-up centers in remote villages in Bangladesh. These centers will be equipped with Laptops with high resolution webcams and an internet connection. Doctors from the city hospitals will be able to examine, monitor and diagnose the patients remotely using video conferencing technology.

Jukti is a NON-PROFIT Initiative. The idea of using video-conferencing technology to diagnose patients remotely has been around for a while. Jutki's final goal is wide-scale implementation of this technology in as many villages of Bangladesh as possible.
