Master Peace

MasterPeace is now officially launched in Cameroon.

The youth NGO 'Vital Actions for Sustainable Development' from where the National Coordinator belongs to has organized from 5-6 March national training to empower the (10) representatives of NGOs from around the country invited to become MasterPeace Clubs. The participants came together in Yaoundé city to be trained on the innovative project by a team of AVD facilitators, civil society members working on peace-building and human rights, UN representatives from the UN Center for Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa, social media activits, musicians artsists, journalists as well as other key resource people invited. Participants also had an opportunity to share their own experiences and learn from each others. Some very simple, positive and energizing games were used to ensure a relaxing training atmosphere during the two days.

On the 6th the participants visited the UN Center for Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa where they met with an Officer and an Intern who presented to them the mission, programmes, activities and opportunities of the Center for them as individuals and for MasterPeace Cameroon as an inclusive project involving them and other youth. They have learnt a number of things, one being to include new ideas on the MasterPeace Cameroon national plan of action they have agreed on the first steps during the two days and to be finalized by March 30th.

On the 7th of March an official launching ceremony took place at the Solomon Tandeng Muna Foundation with hundreds of people attending. The project was officially launched by the representative of the Ministry of Youth Affaires and Civic Education of Cameroon who informed the public that the ministry is willing to support MasterPeace Cameroon and encourage all the youths to join the project. Ms. Ayuketah Oswald, the Technical Advisor of the Minister, also calls young people to be that change MasterPeace wants them to be so that they all create peace.

Together at the end of the launching a flash mob held as a surprise for everyone on the street with youth dancers and musicians who presented the project to the people on the street, showing them the ''MasterPeace'' letters. AVD's members and volunteers have distributed flyers and also encourage people to sign and endorse a ''Call to support MasterPeace'' that was presented at the ceremony. More than 30 people have signed the call and ensure AVD about their full support to the initiative.

Cameroonians are now ready to create peace. Together.
