Turn your Summit inspiration into post-Summit action!
Starting in January 2024, the Action Accelerator programme is designed to help One Young World Ambassadors from the 2023 Belfast Summit to take their ideas from inspiration to impact.
Action Accelerator consists of six core modules to support Delegates from the Summit in their effort to launch and scale sustainability initiatives. Each module features a core online workshop, a follow-up action session, and offline resources.
Through the programme, participants will follow and complete a workbook, tracking their progress through the Accelerator. At the end, participants can apply to compete in a Practice Pitch competition with the chance to win a place at Montreal 2024.
Core Agenda
09 January
Research the Problem
The first topic of problem discovery will draw on participants’ experiences and expertise, applying principles of systems-based thinking to help identify and understand the area of potential impact for each programme participant.
01 February
Create an Action Plan
By this stage, participants should know what problem they want to address, and what they want to achieve, leaving the big question: how? In this session, participants will set out the key actions required.
22 March
Storytelling and Pitching
Starting the second phase of the programme, participants will explore how to communicate their vision and raise vital support and resources for the initiative through their story-telling skills.
19 January
Build your Vision
Now the challenge has been identified and investigated, participants will set out an ambitious vision for what they want to accomplish, considering how they can leverage their own skills and resources to maximise the impact of their initiative.
13 March
Personal Branding and Advocacy
As a leader, participants will be a key element of their successful social impact initiative. This module will teach them how to build and utilise their personal reputation as a mobilising and driving factor for its support and impact.
03 April
Understand your Impact
As participants start to generate the social impact they had planned, this session will help participants not only analyse their success, but use the analysis to continually accelerate the initiative beyond the programme.

Action Sessions
These online meetings are arranged for participants to share their learnings with their peers, and follow up on the main action points from the related workshops and Personal Workbook. Sessions will be run twice daily to accommodate as many timezones as possible.

Practice Pitches
The final stage allows participants to demonstrate the outcome of their participation in the Action Accelerator. A selection of participants will be chosen by an expert panel to attend the next One Young World Summit.
