Marine scientist and National Geographic Explorer Imogen Napper has influenced legislation to ban microbeads in multiple countries and exposed severe microplastic pollution near the summit of Mt. Everest. Her research directly informs global policy to combat ocean pollution and protect marine ecosystems.
