The FT/IFC Awards, or “The Oscars of Sustainability”, are a long-time collaboration between the IFC and FT that showcases private sector companies whose work advances sustainable development across a number of dimensions: climate change, human capital, gender finance, impact investing, and disruptive tech.
Every year applications from companies in these spaces are solicited and a shortlist is published. The winners are announced at a prestigious event in London on the 25th of October.
Shortlisted candidates include sustainable textile fibres from Brazil, weather-based agro-advisory services in India, education and healthcare initiatives in Botswana and Sri Lanka, transformational finance solutions with a gender focus in Ecuador and Indonesia, sustainable infrastructure in Portugal and Africa, and many others engaging in vital work across the globe.
