Today’s global context has increased pressures and complexities. On one hand, the international community must continue to focus on the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and the need to deliver measurable transformative change. On the other hand, the world has come to a halt and the COVID pandemic is at the centre of combined international efforts.

As it was recently highlighted by the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina J Mohammed, youth is an essential actor in coordinating efforts to fight COVID-19 and an active and often more vocal partner in demanding real transformative change, taking the lead on several social issues.

The World Humanitarian Forum's mission is to encourage cross-sector dialogue and partnerships to enable the international community to connect and shape the future for a better tomorrow. In this spirit, WHF brings the question of youth engagement and leadership in times of COVID-19.
