TeachSurfing is an initiative founded by OYW Ambassadors Miganoush Magarian and Gretta Hohl, and is a platform that connects individuals with hundreds of local communities, non-profit and educational organizations where they can share their knowledge over workshops and talks.
TeachSurfing has recently created the Young Volunteer Educators e-Learning Program (e-VELP), which is an Erasmus+ European project (2019-2022) which enables young people with migrant/refugee background to offer high quality workshops and share their knowledge, skills, and culture with local communities and organisations. Its aim is to create and expand an active community of passionate youth Volunteer Educators (VEs), Volunteer Educator Trainers (VE-Trainers), and Host Organisations by the end of 2021. The online learning program will start on 15th of November and applications are now open for participants from Germany, Romania, Italy, Lithuania and Cyprus.
There are three opportunities available for the online learning programme:
1. For young migrants eager to become trainers and to share their knowledge or culture with local communities (Deadline: 7th November)
2. For youth workers motivated to enable young refugee/migrants to deliver workshops for local communities as peer supervisors (Deadline: 7th November)
3. For civil society or non-for-profit organisations, educational institutes, informal communities, or gathering places based in Germany, Romania, Italy, Lithuania and Cyprus, interested to promote social inclusion and to host educational workshops for the general public (Deadline: 31st January 2022)
