Unilever is currently seeking promising social entrepreneurs and social businesses based in Canada to join the upcoming phase of the IMPACT: Unilever x Sustainable Business Mentorship Program.
IMPACT: Unilever x Sustainable Business Mentorship Program connects Unilever employees to social entrepreneurs and sustainable businesses to help them succeed at creating positive social impact in the world. Unilever mentors and sustainable businesses are matched based on areas of their core expertise (marketing, supply chain, finance, negotiation, sustainability, etc.) and the needs of the social entrepreneur or sustainable business.
Why apply to be a mentee?
As a sustainable business owner there may be areas in your business you feel could be improved, you wish you had more expertise in or had an objective third party to bounce ideas off of. The IMPACT Mentorship Program matches you with a Unilever employee mentor who has expertise in the area you need help in the most. Areas of expertise include: Finance, Sustainability, Marketing, Supply Chain, sales negotiation, to name a few.
What's in it for Unilever?
Being an IMPACT mentor provides Unilever employees an opportunity to give back by helping others in the socially conscious, sustainable business community succeed through coaching and mentoring. Mentors participating in the IMPACT program are doing so on a volunteer basis and therefore any advice given does not necessarily reflect the views of Unilever.
What is the time commitment?
The program will last for 1 year, starting in early 2018. As guidance, we suggest that mentors and mentees in the program connect 1 hr/month, but will leave it up to the mentor and mentee to connect and determine what works best for their schedules.
Criteria for mentees
- Social or sustainable business entrepreneurs/leaders
- Core business alignment with one of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan goals
- Ability to commit to 1hr/month for duration of program (approx. 12 months)
