The value of sport

Stephen is One Young World Ambassador from the Republic of Ireland. He works as a Project Engineer for Arup and is also a Hurler for Glen Rovers and Cork often performing in front of crowds of 80,000 people upwards. Hurling is a 3,000 year old Irish sport and one of the fastest games in the world. Stephen is passionate about the power of sport to instill values and change lives.

The plight of the Rohingya Muslims

Shaquib is a One Young World Ambassador from Bangladesh who is passionate about poverty reduction and social enterprise. He works on projects to support young entrepreneurs in making their businesses more profitable and impactful. He is currently interning at theYunus Centre which aims to create and implement social businesses. He also volunteers with CMES to give young people a route out of poverty through vocational training.

Building bridges for a better future

Lee Franck and Nicolas Wohlwend are One Young World Ambassadors from Luxembourg and Liechtenstein respectively. They both work at global engineering and manufacturing firms and met at the One Young World Summit 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa. They initiated bottom-up social responsibility schemes in their organisations that allowed them to use their engineering skills to make a difference to low-income communities around the world.
