Meron Semedar is a One Young World Ambassador from Eritrea who now lives and works in the United States. He regularly writes for One Young World and the Huffington Post about the issues affecting migrant communities, and the circumstances which force them to flee their home countries.

Roberto is a One Young World Ambassador from Mexico who is passionate about sustainable solutions to healthcare issues. Another main area of his work is tackling Non-Communicable Diseases through the lowering of preventable risk factors and promotion of healthy lifestyles with community-based approaches. 

Stephen is One Young World Ambassador from the Republic of Ireland. He works as a Project Engineer for Arup and is also a Hurler for Glen Rovers and Cork often performing in front of crowds of 80,000 people upwards. Hurling is a 3,000 year old Irish sport and one of the fastest games in the world. Stephen is passionate about the power of sport to instill values and change lives.

My journey

Shaquib is a One Young World Ambassador from Bangladesh who is passionate about poverty reduction and social enterprise. He works on projects to support young entrepreneurs in making their businesses more profitable and impactful. He is currently interning at theYunus Centre which aims to create and implement social businesses. He also volunteers with CMES to give young people a route out of poverty through vocational training.

Patrick Sweeney is a One Young World Ambassador from Ireland who is passionate about LGBT rights. He is currently policy and projects officer with GLEN- The Gay and Lesbian Equality Network and was Director of Merchandise and logistics for YesEquality- the campaign for civil marriage equality in Ireland.

Annie is a One Young World Ambassador from the USA who is passionate about equal access to knowledge. She believes that everyone should have access to a quality education. She worked on the Google Academy Accelerate Programme to give diverse businesses access to new customers online.

Sharnay Hearn and Ryan Scott are One Young World Ambassadors from the USA. They are both active community leaders in Pittsburgh, USA, who facilitate projects that raise the aspiration of low-income African-American residents of the city. Sharnay works to bridge the gap between the youth, young professionals, and elders in leadership roles.

Iseult Ward is a One Young World Ambassador from Ireland who is passionate about reducing food waste and food poverty.

Lee Franck and Nicolas Wohlwend are One Young World Ambassadors from Luxembourg and Liechtenstein respectively. They both work at global engineering and manufacturing firms and met at the One Young World Summit 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa. They initiated bottom-up social responsibility schemes in their organisations that allowed them to use their engineering skills to make a difference to low-income communities around the world.

Adelard Kakunze is a One Young World Ambassador for Burundi who is passionate about youth empowerment, business and sustainable development. In December 2013, he was recognized as the second most enterprising student in Africa by the site www.under35CEO.com. In March 2013, he founded Burundi 3.0, a social enterprise that aims to use information technology as solution to youth unemployment and healthcare issues.
