Over the past three decades, he has built successful businesses across four continents, spanning energy, aviation, mining, retail, tourism, ICT, media, manufacturing, and advanced defense technology. He founded Paramount Group, a pioneering global aerospace and defense company that has forged security partnerships with over 30 governments worldwide.
However, in early 2022, Ivor transitioned his focus away from Paramount to lead the Ichikowitz Family Foundation, a philanthropic initiative dedicated to youth empowerment, environmental conservation, education, and the preservation of African history and heritage.
Ivor has been involved in track-two diplomacy—the art of informal conflict resolution. Most notably, Ivor was actively involved in the African Peace Mission—an historic initiative involving seven African Heads of State who sought to mediate in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Through the Ichikowitz Family Foundation, Ivor has championed transformative initiatives that celebrate Africa’s past and invest in its future. One of his most impactful projects is the African Youth Survey—the most comprehensive study of African youth sentiment, aspirations, and concerns ever conducted. Since its inception, the survey has covered 28 African countries and engaged nearly 20,000 young people.
His work remains dedicated to ensuring that Africa’s rise is defined not by dependency, but by agency, where the continent stands as a respected and equal participant in global affairs.
