Ilka Horstmeier is a Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Human Resources, and Labour Relations Director. Following a degree in Business Administration, she started in 1995 at the BMW Group as a trainee and section manager in Human Resources and Organisational Development. Shortly thereafter, she moved to production, where she held various management functions, before becoming Senior Vice President for Production and Planning Engines and E-Powertrain in 2013. In 2018, she became head of the BMW Group Plant in Dingolfing, and since November 2019 she has been the Board Member for Human Resources. Since the beginning of her career, Horstmeier has managed numerous transformation projects and has been focused on the ability to provide operational excellence as well as sustainability. As a "people person", she enjoys the responsibility for the BMW Group’s more than 120,000 associates and their work environment. She actively shapes the transformation and stands for social responsibility due to her firm conviction that "the employees guarantee the success of the BMW Group".
