Michelle Yeoh, an internationally acclaimed actress and producer, has starred in more than fifty films including global hits James Bond's Tomorrow Never Dies, Oscar-winning Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha, Sunshine, The Lady, Crazy Rich Asians, Marvel smash Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and sci-fi franchise TV series Star Trek: Discovery as a first Asian female Starfleet Captain. Through her films, she has challenged the traditional views of Asian women by creating very strong female roles.

 

Michelle will be next seen in James Cameron’s Avatar sequels, Netflix prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin and Disney+ series American Born Chinese.

 

Recently, she listed in Time's 100 Influential People of 2022. Michelle has devoted a major part of her time to charitable and social endeavours. She has been appointed as Goodwill Ambassador of United Nations Development Programme, raising awareness and mobilising support for the Sustainable Development Goals around the world since 2016. She joined the Secretary-General of the United Nations, His Excellency António Guterres, to make a remake at the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Peace-building and Sustaining Peace in New York in 2018.

 

Since 2008, Michelle has been a leading campaigner for the Make Roads Safe campaign, including leading its successful ‘Call for a Decade of Action’ at events around the world. She was also a Global Road Safety Ambassador for the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020, and Global Ambassador for The FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety to raise new resources and awareness for road safety in response to the global road safety crisis.
