What to Expect from the One Young World Action Accelerator 2025

Starting on 14 January 2025, the One Young World Action Accelerator 2025 will empower Ambassadors from the 2024 Montréal Summit to turn their ideas into real-world impact.

The programme consists of six core modules which support Ambassadors in their effort to launch and scale sustainability initiatives after attending the Summit. Each module features an online workshop, an interactive seminar, and accompanying online and offline resources. This year, for the first time the programme will include online Mentor Sessions with industry-leading One Young World Counsellors.

At the end of the Accelerator, participants apply to compete in a Practice Pitch Competition with the chance to win a place at the #OYW2025 Summit in Munich.

 

Register for the One Young World Action Accelerator 2025

The deadline to register for the Action Accelerator is Monday 6 January at 09:00 GMT.

Prior to the programme starting, there will be an online launch event on the Thursday 5 December. Register for the Accelerator before Monday 2 December if you would like to attend this exclusive introductory session.

We will also be releasing a Skills Discovery survey during the launch event! One Young World is partnering with Cappfinity, the world leader for developing human potential, to provide their latest product, Skills Discovery, for The Action Accelerator Programme. All participants will have an opportunity to take an individualised developmental assessment to learn what skills they have that will help them on their journey to impact.

Please note the programme is only available to Delegates who attended the 2024 One Young World Summit in Montréal.

 

Workshop Agenda

  1. Find Your Solution
    Tuesday 14 January
    The first module will explore how to identify and understand your potential area of impact, applying hypotheses in easy, accessible ways to find the most efficient and effective solution.
  2. Vision and Mission Setting
    Tuesday 28 January
    After investigating the problem and identifying a potential solution, this session will discuss the process of setting out your vision and mission to maximise the solution's impact.
  3. Create an Action Plan
    Monday 10 February
    Having covered the problem you want to address and the solution you are aiming for, it leaves the question how? Explore your blueprint for action, from key first steps to achieving long-term goals.
  4. Branding and Storytelling
    Tuesday 18 March
    As the second half of the course commences, develop the brand of your initiative. Explore storytelling techniques to connect with an audience and shape your brand's identity.
  5. Create Your Pitch
    Friday 28 March
    With a clear idea of your solution and your brand, explore tools and tricks to communicate effectively so you can raise vital support and resources for your initiative.
  6. Understand Your Impact
    Wednesday 9 April
    The final session will help participants not only analyse their success, but use impact analysis to continually accelerate the initiative once the programme has finished.

Seminars

At these online meetings, participants can share their own learnings and research, and explore the main action points from the Workshops in greater depth. The first two Seminars will cover the topics from Workshops 1-3, followed later in the year by two more Seminars covering the topics from Workshops 4-6.

Mentor Sessions

Participants are invited to join closed-door online discussions with One Young World Counsellors, leaders in their respective fields and experts in creating social impact. Our Counsellors will share insightful guidance on how to develop your social impact initiative at different stages of the programme. We will be hosting two mentor session, one after workshops 1-3 and another after workshops 4-6. Additional details will be provided to participants in due course.

Practice Pitch Competition

The programme ends with the chance for participants to present their social impact initiaitves to a panel of experts, putting into practice their learnings from the Action Accelerator. Winning participants will receive a place to attend the 2025 One Young World Summit as a Returning Ambassador!
