Gobinath Pandurangan

Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Modulus Housing

I am Gobinath P, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Modulus Housing, a modular construction company that is transforming how critical infrastructure is built in emerging markets. A Civil Engineering graduate from IIT Madras, I co-founded Modulus in 2018 with a simple belief: the same technology, quality, and speed used to build world-class skyscrapers should be accessible to the low-rise buildings where most people live, work, learn, and access healthcare.

Modulus was created to solve a fundamental challenge - making high-quality infrastructure accessible, affordable, and deployable at scale. Through patented modular construction innovations and factory-built manufacturing processes, we design and deliver schools, healthcare facilities, housing, agri-infrastructure, and community buildings in a fraction of the time required by traditional construction.

Over the past few years, I have helped scale Modulus from a startup backed by ₹20 lakhs of family capital into a company that has delivered more than 1800 buildings across 23 states in the Indian subcontinent and Malawi, Africa. More than 800 of these structures are schools, hospitals, and agri-facilities serving underserved communities. Our work has supported government initiatives, development-bank-funded programs, Fortune 500 CSR projects, and rapid infrastructure deployment during the COVID-19 response. Recently, Modulus raised USD 8 million from leading institutional investors after demonstrating product-market fit, profitability, and measurable social impact.

The impact extends beyond infrastructure. Our work has created opportunities for young enthusiasts to build careers around innovation, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship where the majority of our team consists of first-generation entrepreneurs. By proving that technology-driven businesses can solve large-scale societal challenges, we have inspired young people to create solutions that are both commercially profitable, sustainable and socially meaningful.

I am a Forbes 30 under 30 India and Asia listed founder and also have won the National level Social enterprise Idea challenge and a few others as mentioned here.
