Grace Garang

Co. Founder and Executive Director at Youth & Society-Africa

Grace Aguil Garang is a youth and Gender activist from South Sudan and the Co-Founder and Executive Director of a youth organization, Youth and Society- Africa. Through the organization, Grace leads programs on Intergenerational dialogues, education, youth skill matching and development, young women leadership and youth peace forums throughout the country. She advocates for youth and women's critical role in nation-building through Youth agency, Policy Advocacy, Education, Peacebuilding, Protection and Culture.

Through her work with young people, Grace was selected as a member of the International Youth Advisory Committee for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Netherlands. As a member of the committee, she cooperates with policy officers from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union; to gather input from youth in the Horn of Africa on the themes: Education, Work, and Meaningful Youth Participation to support the mainstreaming of youth agenda in International policy.

She is also the Co-Founder of BEATec, a youth-focused Incubation Hub working on SME development and ICT in South Sudan and East Africa as a tool for conflict resolution and fighting Gender Based Violence in vulnerable communities.

Through these programs, she has trained over 250 young people on entrepreneurial and vocational skills for private sector development. Grace is passionate about activism and the development of programs on Intergenerational Dialogues, Meaningful Youth participation, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Media and digital literacy and Economic empowerment of young people and women in South Sudan. She was part of the campaign working on youth involvement in the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of The Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS) and the Youth Development policy in South Sudan.

She is available for Technical Writing support and Consultations, Public speaking, Moderation of Public events, and consultancy on Project Management, fundraising for NonProfits (Grantmanship), Developmental programs, policy development, and digital media advocacy and strategies in South Sudan and East African region.
