Isaiah Bernard is an elected leader of Potlotek First Nation, a proud Mi’kmaw community in Unama’ki (Cape Breton). A passionate youth advocate, Isaiah works to empower Indigenous youth locally and nationally. Their advocacy began at Saint Mary’s University, where they elevated Indigenous student voices and created space for youth perspectives. Today, they serve on the Assembly of First Nations National Youth Council, representing First Nations youth across Canada. Grounded in culture and community, Isaiah champions youth empowerment, education, mental wellness, and Mi’kmaw Nationhood, believing true progress comes when young people are not just heard but empowered to lead.
