Jennifer Jerome is a Mi’kmaq First Nation professional from Gesgapegiag, Quebec, Canada, and a Principal Advisor in Cultural Competence at Rio Tinto. An intergenerational 60s Scoop survivor, her leadership is grounded in resilience, cultural reclamation, and intergenerational responsibility. She brings experience working directly with Indigenous communities across Eastern Canada and has supported the urban Indigenous community in Montreal through volunteer leadership and governance roles, while remaining an active community member.
Jennifer has led national Indigenous awareness and employee engagement initiatives, advised senior leaders on cultural competence and reconciliation priorities, and supported the development of cross-cultural learning strategies within large organisations. She is a candidate for the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference (GGCLC) 2026, reflecting her commitment to advancing inclusive leadership and reconciliation in action.
