Joseph Nguthiru

Joseph Nguthiru, the UN Young Champion of the Earth, is a climate-tech engineer passionate about sustainability and transforming livelihoods through positive impact. He is the founder of HyaPak, a circular economy startup that turns invasive water hyacinth weeds into biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastics. Additionally, he co-founded M-Situ, a startup utilising AI as an early warning system for deforestation, wildfires, and charcoal burning. Joseph is also an Obama Leader and recognised among the 40 Under 40 Africa.
