Mariama Djambony

CEO, DNA SARL

I'm Mariama Djambony Badji, a civil engineer from Senegal, passionate about environmental preservation and sustainable development. My journey is rooted in a deep desire to rethink how infrastructure is designed and built to better serve both people and the planet.

I hold a degree in Civil Engineering and I am the Co-founder and CEO of DNA SARL, a company dedicated to sustainable construction. At DNA SARL, we design and implement eco-responsible building solutions using local materials, environmentally friendly techniques, and energy-efficient technologies. Our goal is to minimize the ecological footprint of construction projects while ensuring social and economic inclusion. Through DNA SARL, I have led innovative projects that bring green infrastructure to underserved communities, demonstrating that sustainability and affordability can go hand in hand. We also focus on capacity-building by training youth and women in sustainable building practices and promoting their integration into the engineering and construction sectors.

In recognition of my leadership and impact, I was selected as a 2020 United Nations Young Leader for the Sustainable Development Goals—a role through which I have been able to advocate on a global stage for inclusive, climate-resilient development.
