Co-founder of Easy Solar

Nthabiseng Mosia is a trailblazing social entrepreneur and co-founder of Easy Solar, a West African energy company that distributes and finances solar solutions for people with limited access to the grid. Founded in 2016, Easy Solar operates across Sierra Leone and Liberia, where it has powered over 1 million people. For more than 90% of its customers, an Easy Solar purchase represents their first formal line of credit, opening a pathway to both energy access and financial inclusion.
As a Ghanaian-South African dual citizen, Nthabi is a pan-African at heart and passionate about crafting homegrown, youth-led solutions to the continent's most pressing challenges. The majority of Easy Solar's workforce of over 400 is under 35, and the company has built one of the largest networks of rural sales agents in both countries, creating meaningful employment for young people in last-mile communities.
She was named an Outstanding Social Entrepreneur by the Schwab Foundation in 2019, a Forbes 30 Under 30, and an inaugural Bloomberg New Economy Catalyst in 2021. She has spoken on global platforms including World Economic Forum Davos, Sustainable Energy for All Forum, and President Biden's Leaders Summit on Climate. She holds a Masters in Energy Studies from Columbia University and is currently pursuing a PhD at the Power Futures Lab at the University of Cape Town, researching renewable energy investment and market design.
