Selam Yihun Teffera

Selam Yihun is an entrepreneur, youth advocate, and business development expert with a proven track record of empowering women, creatives, and startups across Africa. She has co-founded ventures and managed incubation and accelerator programs that have supported over 100 entrepreneurs, contributing to the growth of more than 45 startups and the creation of over 10,000 jobs. Currently, as Co-Founder and CEO of Plafko Trading PLC, she leads the production of locally made plant-based solutions, including Ethiopia’s first oat milk, addressing hunger, environmental challenges, and the lack of affordable dairy alternatives for more than 50 million consumers. She also serves as Chair of the EU Delegation to Ethiopia’s Youth Sounding Board and is a YALI alumnus and Jasiri Fellow, recognized for her leadership in inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship.
