Vanity Fair Global Goals List

Vanity Fair Global Goals List

Achieving the Global Goals by 2030 will require heightened awareness of the SDG agenda and continued championing of those making substantial contributions. One Young World and Vanity Fair have created the Vanity Fair Global Goals List – honouring those leading the charge to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The Global Goals List, published online and in the March edition of Vanity Fair, is entering its third year and features a combination of young leaders and global figures who are making a tangible difference on each of the 17 Goals. The inaugural series of portraits were unveiled at the National Gallery in London in March 2019.

SDG Project Tracker

One Young World Ambassadors are delivering impact in every single country and on all seventeen Sustainable Development Goals. One Young World’s Impact Team helps young leaders analyse and measure their impact and report it formally with a calculated Social Return on Investment, helping projects attract donors and support. Projects are catalogued on the One Young World Impact Page - the easy-to-navigate grid allows visitors to search for initiatives they would like to volunteer with, donate to or find our more about.

UN Young Leaders for the SDGs

Every two years, the United Nations names 17 young change-makers as the UN SDG Young Leaders. The innaugural SDG Young Leaders Summit took place at the One Young World in Bogotá. One Young World Co-Founder Kate Robertson serves on the judging panel which reviews more than 18,000 nominations. The winners come from many different backgrounds and represent every region in the world. Their role is to help activate young people in support of the Sustainable Development Goals and they report to the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Jayathma Wickramanayake.

Global Goals Night

In 2021, One Young World will host the inaugural Global Goals Night in New York City. The gala will celebrate young leaders who are helping the world achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, with special guests from the entertainment, political and business worlds. The evening will feature music, dancing and exceptional cuisine at the Highline Hotel and aims to be the most sustainable event on the New York calendar. Emma Watson SDG 5 Scholarship

At One Young World 2016 Ottawa, actor and activist Emma Watson presented the Emma Watson Goal 5 Scholars for Gender Equality. Watson described the selection process unearthing "people from such disparate experiences and communities that I have found that I have something in common with," she said. "A community of artists, spiritual teachers, dreamers, thinkers, doers who work together and support each other. For the first time in my life I have found a sisterhood, a brotherhood, however you want to describe it, I have found my tribe." The nine recipients have gone on to grow their movements around the world and have received numerous accolades and awards.

One Young World is proud to partner with Global GoalsCast, a podcast that inspires and empowers listeners to make the world a better place by sharing the stories individuals, companies, and organisations that are advancing and achieving a more sustainable world. Global GoalsCast sources stories from leaders across the world, many of whom are OYW Ambassador put forward by the OYW team, as well as OYW Counsellors who are driving forward action on the SDGs.
