Andrea founded Erandi Aprende, an EdTech company and digital platform bridging the gender gap in learning for primary school children in Hispanic communities.
Erandi Aprende started in December 2020 after Andrea saw that Hispanic girls made up only 2% of the STEM workforce.1 This gap inspired her to build a collaborative learning platform that supports girls, teachers, and families. The platform provides teachers with training in both soft and technical skills, helping them break down complex STEM concepts, manage workloads across subjects, and use real-time data to improve student engagement and outcomes, while students access bilingual STEM content and confidence-building workshops designed to help them overcome imposter syndrome.
The initiative has reached 47,788 teachers and students who use the platform across Mexico, the United States, and Colombia. As a result, 70% of families interviewed reported feeling more connected after participating in activities or using the app. Beyond the app, Erandi Aprende also conducts in-person programming and teacher-supported training.
Andrea attended the 2024 Summit in Montréal, where she connected with Ambassadors who shared her vision. Through this experience, she has grown in confidence and developed her public speaking and visibility, which led to opportunities to speak with the Commissioner for International Partnerships at the European Commission, where she represented the Latin America and Caribbean region.
"The One Young World Summit made me feel like I was in a space where I truly belonged. Working in social impact can feel isolating, but being part of the One Young World Community enabled me to be around like-minded individuals who share a passion for creating social impact, giving me a sense of community, a place where I feel united, heard, and welcomed. I also had the opportunity to reconnect with fellow Ambassadors and feature on a podcast.”
