Nadia founded Kalemna for Customer Services, an organisation focused on enhancing
customer experience and telecommunications while creating sustainable employment
opportunities for people who face barriers to entering the workforce such as women and
people with disabilities.

The organisation began in 2020 in response to the lack of accessible economic
opportunities available to underserved communities in Sudan. Alongside its core
business, Kalemna has implemented several social impact initiatives aimed at alleviating
poverty. In partnership with the government and the International Labour Organisation
(ILO), the organisation supported smallholder farmers through microfinance and an
Interactive Voice Response (IVR)-based education platform, providing access to farming
techniques, seed information, and fertiliser guidance. Kalemna also partnered with the
World Bank and the Government of Sudan to support underserved households in
Khartoum and Al Jazirah through technology-enabled microfinance programmes

To date, through these initiatives, more than 200 farmers have received support and
training through the IVR platform, while over 500 families have benefited from
microfinance services.

Nadia attended the 2023 Summit in Belfast, where she spoke as part of the panel
Post-conflict Resilience: Let’s Talk About You(th) alongside Counsellor Jurriaan
Middelhoff and fellow Ambassadors on the Audi Empowering Progress Stage. One of her
A key takeaway from the experience was the importance of measuring impact. Following
the Summit, she went on to mentor young people from Sudan through her scholarship
network and later completed her MBA at the International Institute for Management
Development in Switzerland. She believes being an Ambassador strengthened her
leadership skills, helping her better articulate her work and learn from those around her.

“Being a One Young World Ambassador is a multiplier. Just by mentioning
One Young World, it has opened a lot of doors for me.”
