Steffina is the Founder of Kipin Edutech, a nonprofit organisation that addresses unequal
access to education in underserved communities through a hybrid e-learning platform.
Kipin began in 2016 after Steffina identified that many schools across Indonesia lacked
internet access, leaving students without access to digital learning. Recognising that she
could not wait for infrastructure to improve, she developed an offline learning solution
that enables students to access educational content without the internet. The platform
provides more than 60,000 learning resources, while also equipping teachers with digital
literacy training and tools for content creation, assessments, and grading.
To date, Kipin has been adopted in government education projects across underserved
areas of Indonesia, reaching more than 3,500 schools, one million students, and 367,000
teachers. More than 35,000 schools download educational content annually, generating
cost savings of up to 1 billion rupiah per content each year. Beyond the platform, Kipin
provides free learning materials through digital channels to improve digital literacy and is
now working towards scaling the solution globally.
Steffina attended the 2024 Summit in Montréal. A Deloitte workshop led by an
Ambassador on creating real-world impact inspired her to strengthen Kipin’s
communications and marketing strategy. The Summit also reinforced the importance of
leaders remaining closely connected to the communities they serve, a lesson she
continues to apply as she expands Kipin’s impact.
“The Summit taught me to be a genuine and a connected leader , a leader
in impact needs to know the stories of the people he is helping.”
