Patrick is the Founder of Standout Care, an organisation that addresses limited access to primary healthcare in Ghana’s remote communities by delivering mobile health clinics that provide screening for non-communicable diseases and help prevent life-threatening health outcomes.
Standout Care began in 2016 after Patrick, a physician working in Ghana’s healthcare sector, witnessed the severe progression of preventable conditions caused by limited access to health information and a lack of early screening. In response, he brought healthcare directly into underserved communities through mobile clinics, offering screenings for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hepatitis, breast cancer, and mental health, as well as dental services. He later expanded the programme to include eye care after identifying high levels of preventable blindness, and introduced dietary counselling to address malnutrition in children.
To date, Standout Care has reached over 22,000 beneficiaries. This includes 4,500 women who have received breast cancer screenings, 2,200 individuals who have accessed eye care services, and 1,800 people who have received dietary counselling. Patrick attended the 2022 Summit in Manchester. During the Summit, he connected with other Ambassadors addressing health inequalities, including those working on similar challenges in Ghana. This experience strengthened his operational strategy and led him to integrate technology into his healthcare delivery model to support scalability.
Through the One Young World Community, he gained access to a global network, increased confidence, and new opportunities within Ghana. He has since expanded into corporate health services, delivering screenings for organisations such as the military and police, supported by visibility from the Ambassador Spotlight.
“One Young World has increased my confidence and strengthened my social proof, enabling me to scale up my projects. Being an Ambassador has opened a floodgate of new opportunities.”
