UK Ambassador Wins Royal Honour

Meet our Ambassador of the week: Saeed Atcha, Founder and Managing Director of Xplode Magazine. Xplode has just been announced as the recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour awarded to a voluntary group in the UK. A model of excellence in voluntary contribution, Xplode leverages its publication to serve as a training platform for young people aged 12-22 in order to develop skills in media, writing, business, and employability. This innovative concept bridges social good, productivity, and leisure activities to foster a promising future.

Based in Bolton, Saeed is committed to advancing the abilities of young talent as they are key to the future of any organization. He was compelled to create a publication which expelled negativity in favour of positive outlook and expression, and in 2011, he was awarded funding by Telefonica’s ‘Think Big’ program to set up Xplode. Believing that actualising potential is imperative for success, Saeed’s venture is growing and expanding its horizons.

At the ripe age of 19, he is also a national commercial radio presenter with a UK-wide audience on the UTV Network. His accomplishments have been widely recognized: he has been a recipient of the UK Prime Minister’s Point of Light Award, recruited as an #iwill Ambassador by HRH The Prince of Wales, nominated for UTV Presenter of the Year 2015, and named as UK Young Leader of U.S. Embassy London.
