How the Plenary Session topics and PlEdges are created

Delegates and Ambassadors drive Summit content and there is consultation with the One Young World community at every opportunity.  In order to draft the 2012 Pledges, Ambassadors participated in a polling process to establish which issues they most cared about.  Then a full survey among Ambassadors was carried out to establish which aspects of those issues were of most concern and should be focused on.   Pledges were then created around the principle of actionable but scalable activity that could be carried out in any country.

The Transparency & Integrity Pledge was created at the first-ever One Young World Caucus in London. Ambassadors from all around the world sent in ideas and the attending Ambassadors were from a wide range of countries: Brazil; China; India; Iraq; Turkey; and the UK to name a few.
