Upon returning from the 2013 Summit in Johannesburg, Ambassadors from Barclays created a One Young World alumni network within the bank. The newly established network connects all Barclays Ambassadors from previous Summits as a platform for sharing ideas and supporting each other’s impact. The network currently connects Ambassadors from 30 countries.
Within this network, a team of Ambassadors have been designing Bond for Change; a new product for the bank aimed at financing social enterprises in the UK. 48% of social enterprises cite access to finance as a significant barrier to their growth and sustainability. Pending success of primary research, the launch of the product could satisfy such demand and help grow social enterprise in the UK. The team have recently been awarded funding from the Social Innovation Fund to carry out this essential primary research.
