Deputy Mayor Richard de Mos is The Hague's alderman for Economic Affairs, Sport, Public Space and serves as the acting mayor in the mayor's absence.
Richard de Mos was born in Delft in 1976 and grew up in Hoek van Holland. He moved to The Hague when he was twenty and never left since. He worked as a teacher at two elementary schools in The Hague and was a member of the Dutch parliament for three years. De Mos has been a member of The Hague Municipal Council since 2010. His party Groep de Mos and later Groep de Mos / Hart voor Den Haag (Heart for The Hague) won three seats in the elections in The Hague in 2014 and eight in 2018. He's The Hague's alderman since june 2018.
De Mos enjoys travelling through Europe, watching The Hague's football club ADO Den Haag in the stadium and visiting Hijs Hokij ice hockey.
