Curriculum Development Executive, Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center
Fahmida Zaman works in curriculum development for the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre. She strongly believes in the right to have equal access to quality education and her work for the Centre reflects this. Access to quality education varies widely between rural and urban areas in Bangladesh, which can result in limited job opportunities for those educated in small towns and villages. Inequality can lead to frustration and contribute to religious extremism. Fahmida has also worked as a research assistant for Dr. Ali Riaz at Illinois State University, where she published a paper on the emergence of ideological social movements in Bangladesh for the Journal of Asian and African Studies.
