Pornthida is a co-founder of Siam Organic, a social enterprise which aims to support Thai farmers by bringing their innovative, healthy and delicious products to the global consumers.
Siam Organic’s main product, 'Jasberry rice', is a new variety of rice that has a unique aroma and softness, as well as offer a powerful nutritional antioxidants benefits. Jasberry rice has 2.8 times higher antioxidants than blueberries and 10 times higher than green tea. It is certified organic (EU&USDA standards), non-GMO, and 100% whole grain.
Founded in 2011, Siam Organic is supplied by more than 1,000 small-scale farmers from Thailand’s North East. The income of Siam Organic’s suppliers has increased by 14x on average and the organization achieved a social return on investment of 4.3:1 in 2015. Pornthida aims to reach 20,000 farmers by 2019.
