Our Ambassador of the Week is Ludovic de Gromard from France. He co-founded the Y Generation Education, an innovative education and vocational training programme that aims to train 200,000 young people by the year 2020. Google Impact Challenge France has announced that Y Generation Education has been selected as one of the ten finalists of its 2015 awards.
The competition is designed to reward innovative projects that use technology to make the world a better place. Ludovic's team have the opportunity to win a 500,000 Euro grant and get practical support from Google France in developing their start-up.
You can vote for the project until October 7 from any device.
The start-up enjoys the support of Nobel Laureate and One Young World Counsellor Professor Muhammad Yunus, who is directly involved in the project as Chairman. The programme was also featured at the White House as part of the President Obama's Upskill America Summit, where it was deemed a “visionary solution to revolutionize adult education".
Former CEO of Schneider Electric Henri Lachmann and NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) world expert Robert Dilts also mentor the founders. French car maker Renault and retail giant Casino have entered into a partnership on the first pilot programmes launched in Brazil this year. They hope to facilitate the emergence of team managers and supervisors from a demographic who have been typically excluded from the corporate world due to the education gap in Brazilian society.
"Mastering a technical skill is no guarantee that someone is capable of analysis or can provide sound logical reasoning. This is a fundamental challenge to our teams’ development, these days, hence our strong interest in Y Generation Education’s innovative project.” said Alain Tissier, Vice-President at Renault Brazil.
The start-up has been working with its American partner CSMLearn on developing an innovative 100-hour online training program. Using artificial intelligence, the world-class technology analyses each individual’s responses, learning patterns and emotional state in real time in order to personalise the training. Besides providing content on such skills as problem solving and data analysis, the system also enables participants to develop their autonomy, attention to detail, persistence and other such highly-desirable traits in the workplace.
