About

The Future is Now event brings together the Welsh Government and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies in a conversation about the Sustainable Development Goals. The Welsh government was the first to legislate for the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015. Their "Well-being for Future Generations Act" is a comprehensive plan for the Welsh Government to achieve sustainable development and keep that goal at the centre of their public policy. Five years after the establishment of the "Well-being for Future Generations Act" the Future is Now event will use the Welsh Event as a case study to discuss the future of sustainable development.

Attendees of this event will have the opportunity to network with sustainable development professionals and government officials. They will also be able to participate in the collaborative review workshops discussing the success of the "Well-being for Future Generations Act" and ways to make the transformation to sustainable development more efficient. Attendees will be able to listen to keynote speeches and participate in meaningful discussions about development policy. They will play a part in shaping future government policy in the realm of sustainable development.
