About the Scholarship

In today's rapidly evolving global economy, youth unemployment remains a critical issue, especially in underserved communities. With youth unemployment at 13%, the equivalent of almost 65 million young people world-wide are out of work and more than 20% are considered NEETs (Not in Employment Education or Training).

The Chanel Scholarship empowers young leaders who are dedicated to advancing employability and economic independence for underserved communities. Rooted in the belief that everyone should have the freedom to shape their own professional journey, this scholarship supports individuals working to remove barriers to employment for underserved youth in their communities by; improving access to education, fostering skills development development, building confidence, providing access to networks and creating opportunities for entrepreneurship.

Through participation in the One Young World Summit, mentorship and lifelong membership of the One Young World Community, selected scholars will gain invaluable connections with other influential changemakers to accelerate their impact.

This opportunity is supported by Chanel. In addition to attending the One Young World Summit, scholars will gain access to exclusive opportunities to network with and receive mentorship from Chanel employees.

Scholars will receive:

  • Access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich.
  • Hotel accommodation in Munich in a private room between 2-6 November 2025 (inclusive).
  • The cost of travel to and from Munich (economy class). Catering which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner (provided by the hotel and during the Summit).
  • Cost of transportation between airport and hotel via public transport.
  • Access to an exclusive pre-Summit onboarding webinar with Chanel.
  • Access to a pre-Summit reception hosted by Chanel.
  • Access to an exclusive networking dinner hosted by the Chanel.
  • Matching with a Chanel delegate and at least one remote mentorship session with the delegate post-Summit.
  • Access to the One Young World post-Summit Action Accelerator.
  • Lifelong membership of the One Young World Ambassador Community.

Who should apply?

  • Young leaders aged 18 - 30* who:
    • Are leading or playing a leadership role in impactful initiatives/organisations that support the employability of underserved youth in their communities by:
      • Enhancing access to quality education.
      • Building the skills and confidence of young people.
      • Advancing economic empowerment.
      • Providing access to networks.
      • Enabling opportunities for entrepreneurship.
    • Have a track record of impact.
    • Are eager to connect and collaborate with fellow scholarship recipients and representatives of the scholarship supporter.
    • Are nationals of any country.
