The Watson Institute is a reimagined model of education for next-generation innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs. They are built on the belief that to solve the toughest challenges facing the world, we must equip the next generation with the necessary tools, network, mindset, and courage to unleash a lifetime of impact. The Watson Institute’s 198 Scholars and alumni from 52 countries have raised over $77.2 million, created over 500 part or full-time jobs, and impacted 150,000 people around the world through initiatives they help lead. Watson alumni have been selected to the Echoing Green Fellowship and Forbes’ 30 under 30 list, and continued their education at Harvard University, New York University, and Princeton University, among others.

Watson Semester Accelerator 

The Watson Semester Accelerator, previously known as the Watson Semester Incubator, prepares next-generation, impact-driven entrepreneurs to launch ventures and unleash a lifetime of impact.

The Watson Semester Accelerator is a program for college students, recent graduates, and gap-year students with an early-stage social venture/project and a passion for social impact. 

During the 4-month program, a cohort of young social innovators convene in Boulder, Colorado to tackle the greatest challenges facing the world. From climate change to income inequality and from political oppression to access to water, students enrolled in the Watson Accelerator leverage trainingmentorship, and community to unleash a lifetime of impact. Students who successfully complete the Watson Accelerator have an articulated pathway to earn credits from Lynn University which are eligible for transfer.

Financial Support

The Watson Institute offers an OYW Maverick Scholarship which provides an automatic $5,000 scholarship to the Semester Accelerator and $10,000/year scholarship to the Bachelor's Degree for any OYW member who is accepted to Watson Institute. The Maverick Scholarship is in addition to the merit and need-based financial aid provided by Watson Institute. 

Applicants from One Young World simply need to choose 'One Young World' from the drop-down list on the application when applying.
